SNV
building capacity
SNV is a Dutch non-government development organization with 90 establishments in 32 developing countries. Every day more than 1500 professionals are helping local organizations, which have a potential to contribute to the development of their country.
Business question: global website and intranet for information, cooperation and knowledge sharing
In order to be able to inform the interested parties about the world-wide organization and activities, SNV needed a web platform which can supports all local websites in every country and language. Also there was a need for intranet for further contacts between the advisers, their cooperation and knowledge transfer.
Solution: Microsoft Office SharePoint Server
Virtual Affairs developed the interaction design and the structure of the “Global Website” and the Intranet based on MOSS 2007.
We were responsible for:
- deploying many websites in different languages in many countries, where each country creates and manages their content locally
- the intranet is based on the same technology and its goal is to make the advisors, to cooperate and share their expertise across 5 continents in order to be able to give more effective advise in the developing countries
Result: Virtual Affairs developed a SharePoint solution for international communication, cooperation and knowledge transfer:
- websites in many different languages and countries
- local creation and management of content
- central and local information input
- communication and cooperation between advisors all over the world
- effectively share information and expertise
