Optimal member communication

FNV Bondgenoten (Trade Union) is de specialist in the field of work and income. The provide service like negotiating for a collective labour agreement and tax advice. They look after the interests of the employee and give help and advice if necessary. Trade union FNV Bondgenoten is an association with approximately 475.000 members: employees in different sectors on industry, services and transportation, people entitled to social benefits and elderly persons. FNV Bondgenoten commits itself to these members in many sectors.

Business question: replacement of the whole IT structure for better communication with the members and optimal membership management

FNV Bondgenoten wanted to replace their current IT structure with an integrated, state of art solution. Therefore the financial administration, the membership management system, the knowledge systems and the extranet had to be replaced at once. Microsoft Dynamics AX (Axapta) and Microsoft Dynamics CRM were used for the membership management, SharePoint was introduced for the intranet and the extranet.

Solution: self-service, process integration and knowledge sharing

Virtual Affairs designed and developed the new intranet and extranet for FNV Bondgenoten. The extranet (for all members) is based on SharePoint 2007 and is integrated with CRM and Axapta to be able to show member related information (such as contribution data and employee data).
We were responsible for:

• a self-service facility for the users
• an extranet application with over 30 integrations with other Microsoft systems - Dynamics AX and CRM
• an intranet solution based on SharePoint with an emphasis on knowledge sharing and cooperation

Result: better contact with the members and more efficient administration processes:

• access for FNV members to personalized information about their membership, personal data and sector-related secondary benefits
• dramatic decrease of contacts with the call-centre
• seamless IT systems
• more efficient and effective internal processes
