De Lage Landen is a worldwide active lease corporation and forms a part of the Rabobank Group. Organizations are welcome at De Lage Landen to create financial plans and purchase equipment and vehicles originating from terminated lease contracts.

Challenge: online bidding on equipment and vehicles

Before De Lage Landen started working with Virtual Affairs, several websites were used to offer used equipment for sale. A lack of consistence existed between the sites, offering equipment was cumbersome. De Lage Landen asked Microsoft and Virtual Affairs to think of a more effective en faster solution using an Online Remarketing platform. Such a platform offers functionality to offer equipment internationally and efficiently manage customer contacts.

Approach: fast bidding and buying in a user-friendly environment 

During this project Virtual Affairs closely worked together with Microsoft Services. All facets as design and realization up to the application management has been delivered on our account. Virtual Affairs constructed the platform with SharePoint 2008 based on Commerce Server 2009. Selecting, bidding and buying works easy and fast on the new auction site by offering a user-friendly environment. In addition to the website, the platform offers a complete management portal to manage the sales of all equipment.

Result: online bidding and buying

On the new De Lage Landen sales site it is easy to spot what’s for sale. Extensive descriptions and images of products that may be bid on. When registration is completed, visitors can directly bid on the product of their choice. Delivering their auction in this fashion, De Lage Landen successfully profits from the added value e-commerce solutions deliver to them.
