Applus RTD as a company is specialized in the research and inspection of industrial related organizations. The company houses approximately 2000 employees. The main focus of the company is increasing the usage and decreasing the cost through effective maintenance of industry parts.

Challenge: Intranet as a platform for communication and sharing of knowledge.

Training and continuous education is of vital importance to Applus RTD, in order to keep the knowledge of its employees on a desired level. An organisation that is built on knowledge requires an intranet than not only enables communication, but also allows collaboration and knowledge transferring amongst its users. We made it possible.

Approach: Sharing knowledge in a personalized intranet

We created an intranet based on Microsoft SharePoint technology, in order to share existing knowledge, new insights and developments with one another in an organization with a global scope. We used an interactive implementation method, based on MONCE, in which we anticipated on a gradually growth towards a worthy full knowledge-based platform.

The intranet that we developed for Applus RTD has all the requirements and features for collaboration and knowledge interchanging. It contains personalized data for employees, business-units and the corporate organization as a whole. With the new intranet Applus RTD makes its first steps towards becoming a worthy digital knowledge based organization.
